Snow capped mountains and valley in Sikkim

Overview

First time in Sikkim? This 6-day route balances must-see highlights with realistic drive times. You’ll cover Gangtok → Tsomgo Lake → Lachung → Yumthang Valley, with clear notes on permits, timings, and budget picks.

Day-by-Day Plan

Day 1: Arrive Bagdogra/NJP → Gangtok (4–5 hrs). Evening at MG Marg.
Day 2: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (permit via local operator). Optional cable car.
Day 3: Gangtok → Lachung (6–7 hrs). Night stay.
Day 4: Yumthang Valley & Zero Point (weather/permit dependent). Return Lachung.
Day 5: Lachung → Gangtok. Café hop, souvenir shopping.
Day 6: Departure to NJP/IXB.

Permit Tip: Keep 2–3 passport photos and government ID copies. Upper destinations like Tsomgo/Yumthang need permits obtained via registered tour operators—your Cosmos coordinator will assist.

Ballpark Budget (Per Person)

Couple trip with standard stays: ₹12,500–₹18,500 (ex-NJP/IXB), including hotels, breakfast, transfers, and sightseeing. Peak seasons (Apr–May, Oct) price higher; monsoon/off-season lower.

Where to Stay

Pick walkable stays near MG Marg in Gangtok; in Lachung, choose heated rooms and early breakfast service. Your Cosmos consultant will suggest options matching your budget and travel style.

Packing & Weather

Carry layered warmers, rain protection, and motion-sickness meds for winding roads. Keep buffer time for weather-related delays in high altitude zones.
